On December 10, DCSI PRO, part of the BSI Group, unveiled its new UV-C Robot during a live broadcast from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, where the robot is currently in operation.
Developed through a partnership with INESC TEC, the robot disinfects enclosed spaces using ultraviolet C(UV-C) radiation, eliminating all bacteria and viruses. It allows users to select the surfaces to be sanitized, performing a 360° disinfection of 25 square meters in 4 minutes. Easy to use and featuring flexible mapping, the UV-C Robot can move at a speed of 1.35 m/s and is equipped with 600W UV-C lamps and sensors to detect people and obstacles. It charges simply and autonomously and has a runtime of 2 hours with all lamps operating; however, by selecting which panel to use for surface disinfection, the runtime can be optimized.
Carla Silva, from the Communications Department at ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, moderated the event, which featured a panel consisting of researcher José Lima (INESC TEC), Fernando Vieira, Director of Porto Airport, Fernando Ferro, CEO of DCSI PRO, and Luís Riquito, from the Automation Department at DCSI PRO. The discussion addressed the current landscape for national entrepreneurship as well as the need for businesses to reinvent themselves. DCSI shared its position and objectives in this context through Fernando Ferro, who subsequently presented the product in greater detail.
About 170 participants attended the event and had the opportunity to interact with the panelists during a question-and-answer session.
